OUR VISION

“God has called us to grow a multiplying community that joins in with the works of Jesus in the Potteries, living out the message and power of His Kingdom with our neighbours, and serving the renewal of this region, nation and beyond.”

We are part of the Vineyard movement, a family of over 2500 churches across 5 continents and we share a set of Vineyard values that shape our core identity. As The Potteries Vineyard community we are an…

  • EMPOWERED

As Vineyard people we want to ‘do the stuff’ that Jesus did, partnering with Holy Spirit in the miraculous signs and wonders that show that God’s Kingdom is near.

  • GENEROUS

In response to the abundance of God’s generosity, we lean toward the lost, the poor, the broken and the outsider, giving generously from our time, our talents, our money and other resources.

  • FAMILY

We have been welcomed into the family of God so we seek to always welcome one more, building real relationships and multiplying opportunities to belong with our neighbours, friends and strangers.

The Vineyard movement comes from both traditional Evangelicalism and Pentecostal beliefs but would choose to call ourselves ‘Empowered Evangelicals’. The name ‘Vineyard’ is based on the Bible passage, Isaiah 27:2-3.

As we’re located in the UK, we’re part of Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland (VCUKI) and look to also live out their mission statement which you can read on their website here

Our church and wider Vineyard movement places importance in the Bible as the living word of God, which transforms lives and is relevant to our lives today. We love to worship God through singing and praise, recognising him as King but also knowing that He wants to meet with us individually, on a personal level, through his son, Jesus. We believe that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the whole world and set us free from the burden of sin. As a church, we believe that the Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost and meets with us today as the presence of God in us. The Holy Spirit empowers us to bring the Kingdom of God to our lives today, doing the works of Jesus through God’s power living in us.

To find out more about what we believe as a church, you can read the Statement of Faith on the VCUKI website which summarises every aspect of what we think about God. As a church, we have taken the vision and statement of faith of the wider movement and made it more specific to how we feel God is calling us to play our part in Stoke-on-Trent.
